About Awake!

Awake! is a new initiative of Unity Lutheran Church of Berwyn. Awake! will create opportunities for our community to rise up with hope and courage in order to make our world a better place.

Our educational opportunities urge participants to claim their own voice while learning skills that will help create a more engaged and empowered community.

Unity Lutheran Church of Berwyn welcomes persons of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, races, creeds, ethnic backgrounds, and languages to participate fully in our programs. Our desire to do this work is motivated by our faith, yet we welcome and celebrate the diverse backgrounds of our community. You will be welcome here, as you are.

About our costs
Some limited scholarships are available. We are a new initiative, which means we are still working to build this fund. Awake! is committed to helping people earn a living wage. Most of our instructors do this work as their primary source of income. Our costs incorporate materials, building usage, and a living wage for the instructor(s).

Also, as part of this commitment, Awake! is preparing to offer courses that will walk with people as they create new businesses, and to advocate for better working conditions.
