Unity Lutheran Church is located in the City of Berwyn, Illinois, just blocks away from the Depot District in South Berwyn. The District is home to MacNeal Hospital, a series of great restaurants and taverns, as well as many shops and businesses on either side of the train rail lines. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) stops at its classic train station that sees many commuters going to work and coming home again.

The congregation at Unity has a rich history in the Berwyn community of over 110 years, which predates incorporation of the city itself.  Early Berwyn settlers were of Bohemian decent and made up a large portion of the population. Over the recent past the community has seen a change, becoming more diverse culturally and bringing in a mix of professional residents who enjoy the close proximity to Chicago.

Unity has quickly become an important source of support for many who live in and around Berwyn. The church serves as a PADS site for the homeless, has regular AA groups, Weight Watchers, supports the Cicero/Berwyn/Stickney Food Pantry and shares relationships with several other local churches of various denominations.

Unity Lutheran Church of Berwyn is a newly formed organization and the only current Evangelical Lutheran Church in America affiliated congregation in the city.  We believe Unity is an important asset to both the traditions and history of Berwyn and a friendly and welcoming face too all!
